Radu Jude's The Happiest Girl In The World topped the nominations for Romania's Gopo national film awards, with 11 nominations after having travelled to the prestigious festivals such as London BFI, Hong Kong and New directors New films in NY.
Jude's debut film, a Romanian-Dutch coproduction, was nominee for Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay (Radu Jude and Augustina Stanciu), and Best Leading Actress (Andreea Bo?neag), among other categories.
“AGUA FRIA” WINS THE VPRO TIGER AWARD IN ROTTERDAM
“Agua Fria” has won the VPRO TIGER AWARD at the 39th edition of the International film Festival in Rotterdam. According to the jury, the film “succeeded in telling the story of a mysterious relationship between a woman and a young girl in a convincing and poetic manner. The film takes the audience on an unusual journey through a nature that interacts with people in a magical way. The superb editing ensures an organic flow of images, whilst the strong directing and disturbing atmosphere create tension”.
