HERE AND THERE AWARDED IN TRIBECA
Darko Lungolov’s first feature “Here and there” was presented as an international premiere at Tribeca Festival and won the Best New York Narrative Award.
"Darko Lungulov's debut narrative feature about a New Yorker who travels to Belgrade is as geographically diverse and sensitive as the city of New York itself. The jurors were pleased by the fact that "it gave us not only New York, it gave us great characters, a great story, it gave us the world.”
BEST FEATURE AWARD FOR “GOD’S OFFICES” IN URUGUAY
« God’s offices » was presented at the Uruguay International Film festival and was awarded with the Jury Prize for Best feature, “thanks to its method to combine feature and documentary and presenting at the same time an egalitarian relationship between professional actors and common individuals on a polemical subject.”
MENTAL AWARDED WITH INTERRELIGIOUS JURY PRIZE IN VISIONS DU REEL
The second documentary “Mental” by Kazuhiro Soda won the Interreligious Jury Prize in Visions du Réel in Nyon, Switzerland, as “the film gives a respectful image of human integrity”.

CICAE Award for "the happiest girl in the world"
Radu Jude's debut film "the happiest girl in the world" won the CICAE Award of the Berlinale.
Gathering more than 3.000 arthouse screens in Europe, the CICAE is the world biggest network for arthouse cinema. The Berlinale CICAE prize awards an high quality arthouse film with a theatrical potential and that can bring the audience to discover new cinema horizons.
Max Ophüls Preis for "Universalove"
The debut film Universalove by Thomas Woshitz and Naked Lunch premiered in Saarbrucken during the Max Ophüls Festival and won the award of the best film (including a 18.000 euros support for the German theatrical distribution and a selection in the berlinale section - Perspektive Deutsches Kino).
The festival also organized a special event with a "live version" of the film including a performance of the band Naked Lunch playing live during the screening.
The next "live screening" of the film with Naked Lunch playing live will take place on March 19th in Graz (Austria).
Women tribute in Films Boutique's Berlin Line up
Presenting the first feature films "the happiest girl in the world" by Radu Jude and "Can go through skin" by the Esther Rots in the Forum Section of the Berlinale and "The noise in my head" by Vincent Pluss and "God's offices" by Claire Simon at the EFM, Films Boutique's line up highlights women issues and lives from different parts of the world.
European Premiere in Berlin for award-winning documentary "Mental"
After winning the awards of the best feature film documentary in Pusan and Dubai for its two first international festivals, Kazuhiro Soda's masterpiece will premiere in Europe in the forum section of the Berlinale.
Observing the complex world of an outpatient mental health clinic in Japan, Mental breaks a major taboo, questionning the conventionnal boundary that separates the mentally ill and healthy people.
"I want to see" rewarded for the best documentary/non fiction film in Gijon Festival
"I want to see", by Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, received the prize for "Best non fiction film", during Gijon festival in Spain.
Eleftherotypia prize for "God's offices" in Athens
God's offices, by Claire Simon, was awarded for the best feature film in competition with the Eleftherotypia prize, during the Panorama of European Cinema in Greece, Athens.
SPECIAL MENTION IN VENICE FOR "A LAKE" by Philippe Grandrieux
Philippe Grandrieux's new feature film "A lake" received a special mention by the jury of the Venice Film Festival in the "Orizzonti" section that rewards the films opening new trends in the contemporary cinema. The film will have its next screenings at the Pusan Film Festival and at the London Film Festival.
WORLD PREMIERE IN TORONTO FOR "UNIVERSALOVE"
Thomas Woschitz's first feature film "Universalove" will be presented as a World Premiere in Toronto in the Vanguard Programme. "Universalove" is a global love story composed with 6 episodes in six different places of the world. Tokyo, Marseille, Brooklyn, Belgrade, Rio de Janeiro, Luxemburg: different languages and different cultures, but one singular love.
"I WANT TO SEE" & "THE REST OF THE NIGHT" SELECTED AT THE TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL
"I want to see" by Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige and "The rest of the night" by Francesco Munzi will both have their American Premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival, respectively in selection in the Visions Programme and in the Contemporary World Programme.
"GOD'S OFFICES" AWARDED IN CANNES
Director's Fortnight's "God's offices" by Claire Simon has won the SACD Prize awarded by the Societe des Auteurs et Compositeurs Dramatiques, one of the six awards given by the Director Fortnight.
SPECIAL AWARD TO CATHERINE DENEUVE
President Sean Penn and the jurors lauded French actress Catherine Deneuve with a Special Award from this 61st Cannes Festival. She played in two films this year, including "I want to see", by Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige selected for "Un Certain Regardâ" section.

For its first participation to the Cannes Film Festival, FILM BOUTIQUE presents two films at the Director's Fortnight: THE REST OF THE NIGHT ("Il resto della note") by Francesco Munzi, the acclaimed director of SAIMIR and GOD'S OFFICES ("Les bureaux de dieu"), the new film of the French director Claire Simon starring Nathalie Baye, Beatrice Dalle, Isabelle Carré, Nicole Garcia and Rachida Brakni.
