Bohdan Sláma

Bohdan Sláma is one of the major talents of the Czech cinema. His first feature, THE WILD BEES (2001), the portrait of a Moravian village and its quirky inhabitants, was distinguished by no fewer than ten international prizes including the Tiger Award in Rotterdam and the SKYY Prize in San Francisco. Four years later, he made STESTI (2005) another prizewinner (Golden Seashell in San Sebastian, Audience and European Jury Award in Angers). His feature film ICE MOTHER (2018) won at the Tribeca Film Festival and was nominated in Palm Springs.

lonely weirdo who feels very closely bound to nature. Unemployed and immature, he tries to
keep his family together, to make his wife stay with him, to protect his teenage son from drug
abuse, and to protect Karel from himself - but who will protect Jára?
