Wiebke (45) lives together with her adoptive daughter Nicolina (9) on an idyllic horse farm. After many years of waiting, she now has the chance to adopt another girl, Raya (5), to provide Nicolina with the longed-for sister. The first weeks are harmonious, and the siblings get along great. But shortly thereafter, Wiebke realizes that Raya, initially shy and charming, is becoming increasingly aggressive and poses a danger to herself and others. The mother will soon have to cross borders and take extreme decisions to protect her cubs.

Marius is a divorced man in his late thirties. His ex-wife, Otilia, remarried an accountant. Their 5 years old daughter, Sofia, lives with her mother, causing Marius a deep frustration. According to the law, Marius can spend with his daughter only a limited amount of time. The day Marius goes to take his daughter in a short holiday to the seaside, he finds out that his ex-wife is not at home and he is told that his daughter is sick. He doesn’t believe it and tries to take Sofia by force. This small incident proves to be the trigger for a violent and emotional rollercoaster, all the people in the family taking part in a story which mixes humour, violence, childish songs, police interventions, love statements, blood and a haiku.

It was not a Jasmine revolution as Jasmine does not result in death - rather the cry of despair rising from a generation of graduates. We shall never again have any fear for this new Tunisia. This film is a testimony and a tribute to the people of Tunisia.
